Fri, Feb 18, 2011 CFE Supports Statewide Lobby Day Governor Cuomo’s budget gives $1 billion to the wealthy and takes $565 million from our children in NYC. More Cuts=>More struggling schools=>More schools close Statewide Lobby Day! Fact: More than half a million children across the state attend schools that don’t have the supports to adequately prepare them for college and careers, yet Governor Cuomo plans education budget cuts. It is unacceptable to take $565 million (on top of $442 million last year) from our children’s classrooms in NYC to finance a tax cut for millionaires. Join hundreds of parents and education advocates in Albany to speak up against education cuts and to ask our legislators to do the right thing. Get on the bus to Albany, let your voice be heard! OUR CHILDREN NEED COLLEGE & CAREERS NOT EDUCATION BUDGET CUTS! For Information and to RSVP Call : Zakiyah Ansari, AQE Organizer 212 328 9266 email-zakiyah@aqeny.org |
